Ólafur Arnalds, JFDR, Dermot Kennedy, The Staves & More Perform “We Didn’t Know We Were Ready” Tribute to Talos on The Tommy Tiernan Show
Back in August 2024, Irish singer-songwriter Eoin French, aka Talos passed away from cancer, at the age of 36.
He divided his time between his native Ireland and Reykjavik, Iceland, where he was an active member of the artistic communities in both countries.
On January 5, 2025, the musicians with whom Talos had worked throughout his life, including Ólafur Arnalds, Dermot Kennedy, JFDR, Eoin French, Kate Ellis, Sandrayati Fay, Laoise Leahy, Memorial, The Staves, Niamh Regan, Ye Vagabonds, Christof van der Ven, and Talos' wife Steph French, paid tribute to Talos to perform “We Didn’t Know We Were Ready” on The Tommy Tiernan Show.
The song was originally performed at the 2023 Sounds from a Safe Harbour festival in Cork, written by Ólafur Arnalds, Eoin French, Niamh Regan and Ye Vagabonds. The rendition captured at the Riverlee Hotel at the festival, featuring Dermot Kennedy among others on backing vocals.
Talos had released three albums, “Wild Alee” in 2017, “Far Out Dust” in 2019 and Dear Chaos” in 2022.
After his death, the collaborative EP “Sun Divider” with Atli Örvarsson was released on December 6, 2024.- source : RTE
