Frizzell D'Souza Drops New Music Video for “Symmetries”
Bangalore-based pop singer-songwriter Frizzell D'Souza dropped a new music video for “Symmetries” directed by Aswin Sumesh and Prithviraj Shastry on December 30, 2024.
The song is featured on her sophomore EP “In My Asymmetry”, which was released in July 2024.
The track was written by Frizzell D'souza and produced by Aadarsh Subramaniam.
Frizzell D'Souza said of the song, “'Symmetries' represents an evolution in my sound, moving beyond my relatively acoustic catalog into fresh sonic territory. It's a reflection on how we're often taught to view the world in binary terms when life actually thrives in the more nuanced areas.”
She added, “I'm not sure how else to put it - Symmetries is this 24 year olds chaotic exploration in.. well life. It's a new sonic space for me and I've had THE most fun working on it with Aadarsh Subramaniam and plenty other phenomenal musicians!”- She said of the video, “Had the sickest time touring with this EP and needed to put it together to rewatch later. For all the love you've given this song. Aswin Sumesh snuck around and recorded all our shenanigans on tour and this footage could not have been better. Thanks broski, you're awesome.”
The EP “In My Asymmetry” is her first project in two years since the 2022 debut EP “The Hills Know of You” and comprises 6 songs, produced by Aadarsh Subramaniam. - Frizzell D'Souza saie of the EP, “The idea of ‘symmetry’ represents a mindset that values clear distinctions between right and wrong, good and bad, and doesn’t leave much room for greys. ‘In My Asymmetry’ is a counterpoint against this mindset.”
She continued, “It’s a recognition that the world is much more complex than simple black-and-white categories suggest. There’s a wide range of ideas, experiences, and truths that can’t be neatly put into boxes. It’s a way of celebrating inclusivity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the complexities of our human experience.”
