Miya Folick Releases New Song “This Time Around”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Miya Folick released a new song “This Time Around” on December 27, 2024.
The song is the fourth single off of her upcoming third studio album “Erotica Veronica”, which is set to be released on February 28, 2025 via Nettwerk.
The album is her first body of work in two years since the 2023 album “ROACH”.
Miya Folick co-wrote the song with Kate Davis and produced it.
Miya Folick said of the song, “This Time Around is out now. Kate and I wrote this in Brooklyn on the floor. Just two guitars and a voice memo. I'll share the demo eventually. We recorded this version in LA with the best band and engineer. I cried when I heard the final mix. I was walking along the beach in California but got so hyped I had to run. Sad songs do that to me. (warning: Meg's solos are so heartbreaking it's unbearable.) Whatever kind of holiday season you're having, I hope this brings you some comfort. The song is meant to be hopeful.”- The new album is her first self-produced project and comprises 11 songs, including preceding singles “La Da Da”, “Alaska”, “Erotica”, and “This Time Around”.
She recorded the album with Meg Duffy on drums, Waylon Rector, and Greg Uhlmann on guitar, and Pat Kelly on bass.
Miya Folick said of the album, “The album is about being queer within a heteronormative relationship structure and within a heteronormative society, but it's also just about desire and eroticism in general.
