Rikas Releases New Song “Where Do You Go?”
German indie pop band Rikas, consisting of Sam Baisch (vocals/bass), Chris Ronge (vocals/guitar), Sascha Scherer (vocals/guitar/keyboard ) and Ferdinand Hübner (vocals/drums), will release their upcoming sophomore album “Soundtrack For A Movie That Has Not Been Written Yet” on February 7, 2025 via Nettwerk.
From the album, the band released a new song “Where Do You Go?” along with a music video on December 20, 2024.
The song is the fifth and the final pre-release single off of the album.
The track blends the nostalgic sounds of Japanese city pop from the 70s and 80s and modern, synth-driven elements.
It was written by Benny Sings, Christian Ronge, Ferdinand Hübner, Samuel Baisch, and Sascha Scherer. Produced by Daniel Schaub and Rikas.
The accompanying video was directed by Manuel Hauer.
The band bassist Sam Baisch said of the song, “It's a really funny song, but lyrically rather depressing. We were thinking about what I want to see for myself in a world that seems to be falling apart.”- The band shared on social media, “So excited for this release, cause it’s one of our favorites we have written so far. It’s the last single before our album comes out in February. And we promise, it’s a fun one! The lyrics fit perfectly to our current mood lately, but they also feel hopeful for us. Thanks for being part of our journey! Hope you like it as much as we do.”

The new album comprises 12 songs, produced by Daniel Schaub and Rikas, capturing a sense of movement and dynamism, an idea that the band found inspiring during long drives on their tour bus.
This album is their first deliberately unified project, and they aimed to craft a consistent sound without sacrificing variety. The songs grew from old ideas and spontaneous inspirations collected over the year, resulting in a soundscape that feels like being “wrapped in cotton”.
The band guitarist Sascha Scherer said of the album, “We had this feeling of being on the road, the ‘go, go, go’ vibe that never quite lets you settle, yet also brings a sense of connection.”
