Jorja Smith Performs “Loving You” featuring Maverick Sabre on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform her latest song “Loving You” and a cover of British singer-songwriter Chris Rea's “Driving Home For Christmas”.
On “Loving You”, she performed with Irish singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre.
The song was released last month, and Jorja Smith wrote the song with Maverick Sabre a decade ago.
Jorja Smith said of the song, “This is probably one of the first tunes me and Maverick Sabre made. And I would have been like 16. And this is so old. This song is so old. So I'm just so happy that it gets super light a day. This is a big throwback. With 'Loving You', I feel like it's somewhere. Maybe you're not noticing what you're going through until you're out of it. That makes sense.”- The original version of “Driving Home For Christmas” was released by Chris Rea as the B-side to his single “Hello Friend” in 1986.
The song was re-recorded for his first compilation album “New Light Through Old Windows” and was issued as the fourth single from the album in 1988.
