Tired of Fighting Releases New Song “Castles”
Newcastle upon Tyne-based pop punk band Tired of Fighting, consisting of Nic Wood (vocals/guitar), George Sharpe (bass) and Kev Nolan (drums), released their brand new song “Castles” on December 20, 2024.
The song is the first release under their new label Punkerton Records and follows up “Branches”, which was released back in April.
“Castles” explores the transformative nature of relationships, from euphoric beginnings to the bittersweet evolution into enduring friendship.
The track was written by Nic Wood and produced by George Collings.
The band lead singer Nic Wood said of the song, “The opening of the song is about giving yourself up to your surroundings, and letting your feelings take over you. I don't believe in God, but sometimes you experience the natural world around you, a starry night sky, or something transcendental like falling in love and you get this overwhelming feeling that you're part of something bigger than yourself, that you're connected to something much greater.”- He continued, “Unfortunately, those feelings of love and euphoria don't always last. The song is also about how a relationship changes over time. When romantic love changes to deep platonic care it can be a really difficult thing to navigate, but finding a way to still remain friends after a break up can be so rewarding, and it's something I'm really glad we did”.
