  • Crooked Teeth Covers Rise Against's “Swing Life Away”

  • American pop punk band Crooked Teeth, consisting of Tyson Evans (vocals/bass), Jay Pigott (guitar) and Jason Hayes (drums), released a cover of American punk rock band Rise Against's “Swing Life Away” on December 13, 2024.

The song is the follow-up to “My Last Day Parade”, which was released back in September. The band caps off the year with this single.
The original version of the song was released by Rise Against from their third studio album “Siren Song of the Counter Culture” in 2005.
But the song was first included in the 2003 compilation album “Punk Goes Acoustic” in 2003.
The song has sold over one million copies in the United States.
Besides Crooked Teeth, American rapper Machine Gun Kelly covered the song on his mixtape “Black Flag” in 2013.
The track was written by Tim McIlrath and Neil Hennessy. The cover version was produced by JoJo Centineo.
  • The band lead singer Tyson Evans said of the song, “This is the song that Jason (the drummer) and I have talked about covering since around the time that he joined the band. He told me that when he was a teenager that there was a school project where like he wanted to cover this song.”
