The Modbeats Covers Bob Dylan's “Just Like a Woman”
New Jersey-based rock band The Modbeats, consisting of Philip Dunn (vocals/guitar), Joe Mandia (guitar), Scott Matison (bass) and Fizz (drums), released a cover of American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan's “Just Like a Woman” on December 18, 2024.
The single follows up “Fairweather Friends”, which was released last month.
The original version of the song was released by Bob Dylan as the second single from his seventh studio album “Blonde on Blonde” in 1966.
There are two versions of the song: the album version is 4:53 long, while the single version is 2:56 long.
Also, British rock band Manfred Mann covered the song as their debut single in 1966.
The band lead singer Philip Dunn said of the song, “Blonde on Blonde has always been my personal favorite of the Dylan discography. The whole 1964-1967 era, really. From Another Side of Bob Dylan straight through Blonde on Blonde. The musicians he played with during this period, his fashion sense, etc…it just never gets old! It wasn’t easy choosing just one song to cover. I really love every track on the album.”- He continued, “We wanted to do something different. We chose 'Just Like a Woman' because it’s really a nice melody and I was intrigued about taking this slower kind of tune and making it an upbeat number. I haven’t come across a cover version quite like this before. With the biopic coming up at Christmas, we felt the time was right to put this out.”

Also, Bob Dylan's biopic film “A Complete Unknown” will be released on December 25, 2024.
The film is based on the 2015 book “Dylan Goes Electric!” by Elijah Wald and portrays Bob Dylan through his earliest folk music success until the momentous controversy over his use of electric instruments at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival
The film was directed by James Mangold, starring Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, and Scoot McNairy.
