  • Interpol Shares New Short Film “Live at Zócalo, Mexico City, 2024”

  • American rock band Interpol, consisting of Paul Banks (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Daniel Kessler (lead guitar) and Sam Fogarino (drums), shared their new short film “Live at Zócalo, Mexico City, 2024” on December 17, 2024.

The film documents their biggest concert, which took place at Zócalo Square in Mexico City to a giantic crowd of over 150,000 concertgoers on April 20, 2024.
The band performed a 21-song set at the concert.
The film was directed by Bartleberry Logan, who created it featuring the crowd shots, glimpses backstage, and their performing “Evil”, “Untitled”, “Public Pervert” and more.

The band said, “It's not every day you get to perform in front of 200,000 people. Mexico City this was a show we'll never forget and in celebration of the monumental event, we've teamed up with Bartleberry Logan and Van Alpert to create an official film. This one's for us all.”
  • In the film, Paul Banks said, “I was a high school senior, really just having the time of my life and my dreams of being a rock musician were very much in the nascent stage in that time but I did have dreams of one day performing as a rock musician but I definitely never dreamed that I'd be returning to Mexico City 25 years later to perform in front of upwards of 100,000 people at the Zócalo.”

He continued, “It's always felt, for me, not just a homecoming to this important place of my youth but also just one of the most amazing crowd energies that we've ever encountered anywhere in the world. It can't really be overstated how special that performance was for us. It was an incredible night with an incredible crowd and something we will certainly never forget.”
