Marijonas Mikutavičius Releases New Christmas Song “Niekada Kalėdos”
Lithuanian singer-songwriter Marijonas Mikutavičius released a new Christmas song “Niekada Kalėdos” on December 16, 2024.
It is his first release in a year and a half since the 2023 song “Mūsų meilė nevienoda”.
Also, this marks his second Christmas song since 2004 “Velnias, Man Patinka Kalėdos”
The track was written by Marijonas Mikutavičius and Vytautas Bikus.
Marijonas Mikutavičius said of the song, “People started saying that my recent songs were sad, so I took and wrote something silly and funny. Last minute jump on the Christmas train.”
But he said his only regret is that he didn't come up with the song idea and its initial lyrics earlier than the end of November.- The accompanying music video was directed by Simas Lindešis.
Director Simas Lindešis said of the video, “I haven't had the chance to work with Marijonas yet. When I received the offer, I started thinking about what type of video would be interesting and different from the usual for him. I was getting a kick out of Christmas and that's how the idea of filming a stylized red video came to me. The song is very dynamic and the video came together like that.”
Marijonas Mikutavičius added, “Filming a new song 'Niekada Kalėdos' It was crazy fun, my eyes were red, eating artificial snow.” -
