Julien Baker & TORRES Team Up for Debut Collaborative Song “Sugar in the Tank”
American indie rock band boygenius' member and singer-songwriter Julien Baker joined forces with Nashville-based indie rock singer-songwriter TORRES to release their debut collaborative song “Sugar in the Tank” on December 13, 2024.
The collaborative project was formed by their shared experiences of growing up queer in the south.
The pair first performed the song at New York's Webster Hall two months ago.
Also they appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the song last week.
The track was written by Julien Baker and Mackenzie Scott. Produced by Julien Baker, Mackenzie Scott, and Sarah Tudzin.
On the track, they love of country music, but joyfully reclaims the genre's traditions and iconography which until only recently felt exclusionary.
Also American singer-songwriter Aisha Burns played fiddle on the track.
