NOVELISTS Releases Two New Songs “Coda” & “K.O.”
French progressive metalcore band NOVELISTS, consisting of Florestan Durand (guitar), Amael Durand (drums), Nicolas Delestrade (bass), Pierre Danel (guitar) and Camille Contreras (vocals), released two new songs “Coda” and “K.O.” on December 11, 2024.
The songs are follow-up to the EP “Okapi”, which was released back in May.
Also, two songs are their first release under their new label ACKOR Music, which was launched by NOVELISTS and French metalcore band LANDMVRKS.
Both songs were written by Amael Durand, Camille Contreras, Florestan Durand, Nicolas Delestrade, and Pierre Danel. Produced by NOVELISTS.
The accompanying music video for “Coda” was directed by Pavel Trebukhin.
The band said of the songs, “We imagined 'CODA' and 'K.O.' almost as a mini-album where instead of getting a single track without context, people would get to listen to a wider range of our music and get a better understanding of where we want to go with that album right from the first releases. The heavy-catchy 'CODA,' followed by a more emotional and deeper 'K.O.'”- The band shared on social media, “With this first release we wanted to show more variety than what is possible to put in a single song. That is why we decided to release K.O. yesterday. Together with 'Coda' they are a first glimpse into what our new record sounds like. K.O. is a slower song with a less conventional « single » structure so by pairing it with Coda we hope that more people will get to listen to a song that could have otherwise easily been overseen in the context of a full album release. K.O is one of our favourite song we have ever written and we are extremely proud and excited to finally get it out for the world to hear.”
