Tinashe Drops New Music Video for “Cross That Line”
American singer-songwriter Tinashe dropped a new music video for “Cross That Line” directed by Jonah Haber on December 11, 2024.
The song is featured on her seventh studio album “Quantum Baby”, which was released back in August.
The track was written by Juan Guerrieri-Maril, Charli, Tinashe Kachingwe, and Toian Keisha Gichie. Produced by Z3N.
Tinashe first premiered the video at her fan event on December 10, 2024, presented by META.
The video visual picks up where the previous video “No Broke Boys” visual leaves off.
The clip depicts Tinashe being detained in a cell, struggling to escape as onlookers watch her dance.
According to a press release, the video “touches on the concepts of perception and surveillance, which have been a through line during the Quantum Baby rollout.”- The new album is the second installment of a trilogy of “BB/Ang3l” series, following the 2023 album “BB/Ang3l”.
Tinashe said of the album, “Quantum Baby is about getting to know me on a deeper level. It's about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I've never been one to be put into a box, so the name 'Quantum Baby' encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative. Like the Quantum Paradox, at my deepest, most essential core level are so many mysteries and contradictions. Bridging the gap between confidence and vulnerability is the human experience& my favorite kind of art.” -
Tinashe is currently working on the third part of the trilogy. She told Rolling Stone, “[The third part is] definitely still in the works. One of the benefits of having this three-part trilogy is being able to change it and adapt it in real time.”
