  • The Darkness Premieres New Song “I Hate Myself” on BBC Radio 2

  • British rock band The Darkness, consisting of Justin Hawkins (lead guitar/vocals), Dan Hawkins (rhythm guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums), premiered a new song “I Hate Myself” on BBC Radio 2 with Jo Whiley.

The song is the second single off of their upcoming eighth studio album “Dreams On Toast”, following “The Longest Kiss” released back in September.
The new album is set to be released on March 28, 2025 via Cooking Vinyl. It is their first LP in four years since the 2021 album “Motorheart”.
The track was written by Darby Todd, Derek Nash, Jakob Herrmann, Jem Godfrey, Justin Hawkins, and Lee Pomeroy. Produced by Dan Hawkins.

The band lead singer Justin Hawkins said of the song, “At last, a joyous, raucous celebration of self-loathing. I think without regrets we stand to learn less from our experiences - to deny them and compartmentalise them is to deny ourselves an opportunity to grow. So, it's time for us to sing this uplifting ode to remorse in the hope that we don't make the same mistakes again and history does not repeat itself.”
