LU KALA Releases New Song “Cry Baby”
Congolese-Canadian singer-songwriter LU KALA released her brand new song “Cry Baby” on December 6, 2024 via LVK/Amigo Records.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Maia Beth.
The song is the fourth single of 2024, following “Nothing But Love”, “Who's Gonna”, and “Criminal”.
Also, the song was released after she was a guest judge on the season premiere episode of Canada's Drag Race on WOW Presents Plus.
Lighthearted and coy, the song is her farewell to an (ironically) teary-eyed ex. This catchy pop lullaby is an ode to the moment we release the baggage and pain inflicted by a deceitful partner.
The track was written by Elizabeth Lowell Boland, Frequency, LUSAMBA VANESSA KALALA, Stephanie Jane Lang, and Vaughn Oliver. Produced by Vaughn Oliver and Frequency.- LU KALA said of the song, “I feel like a lot of times when break ups happen, women often process it before the actual break up, whereas men will be like 'I don't want you anymore' and then months later they come back crying after they did you wrong,”
She added, “I do music that is true to me, and it would be cool to see more girls feel like they can do the same, whatever the genre, no matter their race.” - source : Apple Music
