Olivia Reid Releases New Song “Quite Simple”
New York-based indie-folk singer-songwriter Olivia Reid released the second single called “Quite Simple” from her upcoming EP “soft songs for the soul” on December 6, 2024, following “Love Don’t Leave”.
The new EP is expected to be released in 2025. It is her first project in two years since the 2023 EP “To Be Named By the People”.
The song is inspired by her close relationship with her grandparents, who have recently passed away, making the message of gratitude and to enjoy all that life has to offer.
The track was written and produced by Olivia Reid, with production by Benji Cormack.
Olivia Reid said of the song, “I’ve always had this feeling like I’m running out of time to experience life. And this song is a reminder that I’m not. I wrote this story to echo some of the most positive perspectives I’ve heard from the older generation and try to share that with my peer group. In old age, it seems there’s so much to look back on fondly and so many experiences that you don’t even know are ahead of you.”
She added, “I wanted to write a song that gives people my age some optimism. We’ve got time.”- Olivia Reid shared on social media, “Quite Simple is a message that it’s all gonna work out friends!! big thanks to Benji Cormack and all my lovely collaborators for helping me take the vision of the first demo arrangement I made in the Poland countryside and turn it into this lil sonic bundle of joy.”
