Thala Announces New Album “Avalanche”, Shares New Song “drive song”
German indie pop singer-songwriter Thala has announced her sophomore album “Avalanche” will be released on February 14, 2025 via Fire Records.
The album is her first LP in four years since the 2021 album “adolescence” and comprises 10 songs, featuring a guest appearance from Derby-based singer-songwriter Sfven.
As 2023's EPs revisited painful chapters in her life, 'Avalanche' offers a more focussed worldview, tackling more mature matters of the heart.
From the album, she released the fourth single called “drive song” on December 5, 2024.
The track was written by Damian Press and Thala. Produced by Mani Orrason.
The accompanying music video was directed by Thala and Jack Campise, who filmed in Los Angeles.
Thala said of the song, “drive song is a song where a character falls in love with someone without even knowing who they are, kind of ”blinded by the pretty shiny light” one could say, to then fall into a deep hole of depression as their toxic energy sucks all the good away and makes them question their life choices whilst still missing that relationship.”- She shared on social media, “'drive song' is yours now and I can't believe that I'm finally able to tell you the news!!! Yes!!! Indeed!! There is a new album coming. I called it 'Avalanche' and it's yours Feb 14th. It's a summery of a lot of emotions, experiences, learnings, failed relationships, days I felt like shit, days I felt like I was on top of the world and everything in between.”
