Close Counters Releases New Song “FEELING TAKES OVER ME” featuring Lyric Jones
Australian production duo Close Counters teamed up with Los Angeles-based singer and DJ Lyric Jones to release a new song “FEELING TAKES OVER ME” on November 28, 2024.
This marks the first collaboration between Close Counters and Lyric Jones.
The funky new collaboration is a result of the duo's trip to Los Angeles in 2023.
The track showcases the duo's signature fusion of Funk, House, and Soul, elevated by Lyric Jones' dynamic vocals and smooth delivery.
It was written by Allan McConnell, Close Counters, Finnian Rees, and Janelle Clinton. Produced by Close Counters.
Lyric Jones said of the song, “Close Counters' sound is magnetic. As soon as I heard the beat, the words flowed naturally. It's all about letting go and feeling the music take over.”- Close Counters said, “This song is simply about surrendering yourself to the bodily joy felt through dance music. It was born out of a writing session in LA at Justin Stanley's studio in North Hollywood. Lyric's vocals just blend perfectly with this kinda groove. CC synth bass lines played on the Melbourne Instruments NINA synth. Lucky Pereira keeping the hi-hats toasting.”
They added, “Little cameo from Allysha Joy where we recorded in LA. Thanks to Justin Stanley who let us use his incredible studio with Rhodes cabinet and Maxi-Korg - the glitchy synth blips you hear throughout the tune are done on this guy.” -
The duo released another song called “ON THE MOVE” along with “FEELING TAKES OVER ME”.
They collaborated with Australian singer-songwriter Tiana Khasi on the track.
The track was written by Allan McConnell, Finnian Rees, and Tiana Naug. Produced by Close Counters.
