The Sherlocks Releases New Song “Bones”
Back in September, British indie rock band The Sherlocks, consisting of Kiaran Crook (vocals/guitar), Brandon Crook (drums), Alex Procter (guitar) and Trent Jackson (bass), announced their fifth studio album “Everything Must Make Sense!” would be released on February 21, 2025 via their own Teddyboy Records.
From the album, the band released a new song “Bones” along with a music video on November 29, 2024.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Death Of Me” and “Man on the Loose”.
The track was written by Kiaran Thomas Crook. Produced by David Radhad-Jones.
The accompanying music video was directed by Renny Monaghan-Brown, starring Max Bailey.
The band lead singer Kiaran Crook said of the song, “Our third single Bones is a monster tune! Proper funky and proper driving. It's the perfect example of us having fun in the studio, the songs in a mad tuning, there's about four bass tracks happening at once, it just went a bit crazy whilst recording. But we were having fun, we didn't want to restrict ourselves whenever it's sounding good. This is our fifth record and if you can't try out mad ideas by now, when can you? I think the fans are gonna really love this tune when they hear it. Definitely one to be excited about! It sounds like if Prodigy and Primal Scream had a baby, it's a MONSTER!”- The new album is their first body of work in two years since the 2023 album People Like Me & You and comprises 10 songs, produced by David Radhad-Jones.
Kiaran Crook said of the album, “This album feels different to any other album we've done before. I know it's cliché, but it's true, the songs are so varied. I feel like we're at a point where we're so comfortable in our own identity that we can allow ourselves to try ideas and not be afraid of the outcome as it's inevitably gonna end up sounding like us. I feel like it's an album the fans will really get behind when they finally hear and certainly one that's going to surprise a lot of people. Get ready.” -
The band drummer Brandon Crook added, “I had a great time recording the album with David, it was a pleasure to work with someone so full of ideas, professional and zero ego. From a personal point of view on the drums it was definitely the most demanding album I've ever recorded. I was pushed to new heights, but I'm so glad as the record sounds incredible! The fans are going to be blown away. A lot of bands have to say their new album is the best, but this really is our best album to date. We are getting stronger and stronger every album. It's an exciting time for the band! Can't wait to get on the road and play these songs live.”
