Franz Ferdinand Covers Chappell Roan's “Good Luck, Babe!” on BBC Radio 2 Jo Whiley Sofa Sessions
Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand, consisting of Alex Kapranos (lead vocals/lead guitar), Bob Hardy (bass), Julian Corrie (keyboards), Dino Bardot (rhythm guitar) and Audrey Tait (drums), appeared on BBC Radio 2 Jo Whiley Sofa Sessions to perform a cover of American singer-songwriter Chappell Roan's “Good Luck, Babe!”.
The original version of the song was released by Chappell Roan on April 5, 2024 via Amusement Records and Island Records.
The song reached No. 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the UK Singles chart.
Also, the track was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
The ceremony will take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2, 2025.- The band lead singer Alex Kapranos said of the song, “It's just an amazing song by an incredible artist. It's funny, you get some artists that have a moment - often, it's kind of divisive. Some people absolutely love them and some people hate them. But I've not come across anybody I know, none of my friends, nobody I know, who doesn't like this artist. They're just so good. This song's incredible, so we're going to play it.”
