CHINCHILLA Releases New Song “Do You See Me Now” from Original TV Series “Sweetpea”
London-based singer-songwriter CHINCHILLA released a new song “Do You See Me Now” on November 29, 2024.
The song is the theme of British Sky Atlantic TV series “Sweetpea”.
It was written by CHINCHILLA and British composer Isobel Waller-Bridge.
For CHINCHILLA, the song is the second contribution, following “The Chain” from the Prime Video original series “My Lady Jane”.
“Sweetpea” is based on the book of the same name by CJ Skuse and was directed by Ella Jones, starring Ella Purnell.
The series premiered on October 10, 2024 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
CHINCHILLA said of the song, “Sweetpea as a series reminds me a lot of my song 'Little Girl Gone' - and I think every woman can relate to the feeling of being overlooked and having to smile through it. When I got asked to collaborate on the title track for the series, it just felt so right. I already knew of Isobel Waller Bridge's work and really admired her as a musician. She sent me over an instrumental and I wrote over it.”- She continued, “I wanted to create something that combined vulnerable with unhinged. A combination I often live by musically. I wanted to include my vocal churchy choir sound in the vocals and have them singing something delusional 'so say my name like I'm 10ft tall, bow your head like I'm royal' - I love that on-the-edge energy of a woman losing her shit and demanding respect, after she's been pushed to that point.”

She shared on social media, “'Do you see me now?' The title track I made with Isobel Waller-Bridge for the TV series 'Sweetpea'. I love this song so much that I even made an extended version for you. I got asked to do this at the end of Summer. Isobel is someone I already admired SO much musically and the series was RIGHT up my street SO I WAS BEYOND GASSED. I locked myself away in a cheap little studio in LA with an ant infestation and wrote and recorded all the vocals. Maybe that was the energy I needed, I hope it wasn't because I don't want to work with ants more. I love it and I hope you do too. Go watch Sweetpea if you haven't already, it's just the best.”
