Malu Pierini Returns with New Song “Souvenir”
The Danish-Corsican singer-songwriter Malu Pierini, formerly MALU, returned with a new song “Souvenir” on November 29, 2024.
The song is her first music in a year since “Heavy Baggage”, which was released last October.
Also, the track is the first single as Malu Pierini in her full name from her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
The song is like an autumn stroll through Paris, combining honesty to express the bittersweet beauty of belonging to multiple places at once.
It features piano merging with Mediterranean bossa nova rhythms and the classic French accordion.
The track was written by Marie-Louise Pierini Lüders and Nicholas Kincaid. Produced by Oliver Kincaid.- Malu Pierini said of the song, “I've spent the past year digging into the core of my own story, making my music more personal. I used to be unconsciously guided by others' expectations, but with these new songs, I'm allowing myself to write about things I'd normally keep to myself - and for the first time, my roots and my full name have a place in my music. Symbolically, 'Souvenir' is about opening a new chapter, traveling out into the world alone - and discovering that you don't miss your partner and your old life back home as much as you know you should.”
