UMI Releases New Song “Butterfly II”
Earlier this month, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter UMI surprise posted a new song “Butterfly II” to SoundCloud.
On November 26, they officially released the track.
The song is a sequel to “Butterfly”, which was released as the promotional single in 2018.
it was written as a form of reflection and therapy for them.
The track was written by Tierra Umi Wilson and Veronica Vera. Produced by V-Ron.
UMI said of the song, “I felt inspired to drop music because I felt a lot of you - like me - have been having a hard time processing life & wondering if everything will be okay. I'm sharing this song with u as a reminder that everything will be okay may this song help you feel into that~ I literally have no idea why I wanna drop this song - other than a gut feeling & a deeper desire to heal the world.”- The cover art for this song was photographed by Kiara Schwartz.
Kiara Schwartz said of the photo, “We captured this photo on the beach in the jungle, a moment I will never forget! One of those magical ones when everything feels like it is truly exactly aligned. This was my caterpillar to butterfly moment when it came to my own photography expression. I had to put down my camera and take a moment to breathe through a flood of gratitude. Everything felt so magical. A year later I’m not surprised this photo gets to spread its wings through the world through Umis angel voice and words with such a special song.” -
