Lil Nas X Releases New Song “need dat boy”
Last week, when American rapper Lil Nas X released “LIGHT AGAIN!”, he announced his new single called “need dat boy” would be released next Friday.
And as promised, he released the new song “need dat boy” from his upcoming sophomore album “Dreamboy” on November 22, 2024.
The song is an introspective R&B ballad based on a plaintive piano melody, unlike the previous song produced by former Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter.
The track was Adam Duggins, Jahnei Clarke, Katrina Taylor, Lasana Smith, Marvin Hassanali, Maurice Young, and Montero Lamar Hill. Produced by Jahnei Clarke.
The new album is expected to be released in 2025.
He shared the album trailer last week. In the trailer, a motorcycle helmet-wearing “Dreamboy” appears out of the clouds and, as he shows Lil Nas clips from his past videos, the character says, “Who you are. You are everything. Once you remember that, you're ready. The next world is waiting for you.”- Lil Nas X said of the album, “For so long I've tried to make every song get as much attention as possible. Due to my fear of everyone saying I'm a flop or feeling like less. But this time around I'm choosing my vision. Do I hope my songs do well? YESS but they are coming regardless and I'm standing behind them.”
