Architects Announces New Album “The Sky, the Earth & All Between”, Premieres New Song “Whiplash” on BBC Radio 1
British metalcore band Architects, consisting of Dan Searle (drums), Alex Dean (bass), Sam Carter (vocals) and Adam Christianson (guitar), has announced their eleventh studio album “The Sky, the Earth & All Between” will be released on February 28, 2025 via Epitaph.
The album is their first LP in three years since the 2022 album “The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit”.
Also, it is the first release since longtime guitarist Josh Middleton exited the band in 2023.
The album comprises 12 songs, featuring guest appearances from House Of Protection and Amira Elfeky.
From the album, the band premiered a new song “Whiplash” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Curse” and “Seeing Red”.
The band worked with former Bring Me the Horizon Jordan Fish on the track.
The band drummer Dan Searle said of the song, “Whiplash marks the beginning of a new era for Architects. It is a song that speaks of tribalism, of a deepening chasm that lies between human beings based simply on opinions and beliefs. It gave us the opportunity to explore these concepts in a way that we haven't before and for the first time in a while it gave us fuel to write something truly ferocious.”
Lead singer Sam Carter added, “We’re so happy to be back and to be releasing a song that we love so much. It’s us at our very best and we think it’ll be a fan-favourite.”- The accompanying music was directed by Specter, who filmed in Slovenia over the summer.
Dan Searle said of the video, “We’ve long admired director ‘Specter’ for his work with Rammstein so it was a pleasure to bring him in for this song to create something for us. His visual concept gave life to the words in a unique way that may create more questions than answers, but sometimes that's the beauty in art.”
Sam Carter aded, “An unbelievable like, couple of days. It was so much fun. I did a lot of the stunts, as in, like being in the car, and I get quite a lot of motion sickness. I've not seen it yet. It's pretty it's pretty crazy. I'm getting driven around fast. But we loved it. It felt like being on a film set, and being with a producer like that just kind of brings the best out of you.” -
Sam Carter told Jack Saunders about the album, We are releasing a new record, 'The Sky, the Earth & All Between'. It's the new architects album, and we are so, so proud of it. It's in our soul. We've done everything that we can. We've worked very, very hard on it. And we're so proud of it. And I think our fans are going to absolutely love it.
He continued, “Going in and just wanting to be at our very best. I think it was like, we're going to work together, we're going to create the best Architects record we can. And we went in just being like, this is now or never for us. It's an important record, and it's time for us to show up and be Architects and showing up.”
He added, “Working with Jordan was amazing as well. Dan, both of them together. Dan knows my voice probably better than anybody, so being working close with him for the last few records has been amazing. But having somebody like Jordan come in as well and have the two of them there, it was like, Yeah, I had the best team behind me to be like, you know, you can do this. It's time for you to show up.”
