Spiritbox Announces New Album “Tsunami Sea”, Premieres New Song “Perfect Soul” on BBC Radio 1
Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox, consisting of Courtney LaPlante (vocals), Mike Stringer (guitar), Zev Rosenberg (drums) and Josh Gilbert (bass), has announced their upcoming sophomore album “Tsunami Sea” will be released on March 7, 2025 via Pale Chord/Rise Records
It is their first album in four years since the 2021 album “Eternal Blue”.
The album comprises a 11-track, produced by Dan Braunstein and Mike Stringer.
Before, the leased singer Courtney LaPlante told Loudwire about the album, “I want to prog out a little. I want to see if we can challenge ourselves not to edit songs so much, and let them marinate and develop. And it's okay if a song is like six minutes long sometimes.”
From the album, the band premiered a new song “Perfect Soul” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Soft Spine” released in September.
It is a chunky, melodically-charged anthem that focuses on the more harmonic side of Courtney LaPlante's vocals.
The track was written by Courtney LaPlante, Dan Braunstein, and Mike Stringer. Produced by Mike Stringer and Dan Braunstein.
The accompanying music video was directed by Dylan Hryciuk.- Recently, the band was nominated for Best Metal Performance with “Cellar Door” at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
The ceremony will take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2, 2025.
“Cellar Door” is featured on the 2023 EP “The Fear of Fear”.
The band said, “Thank you to the Recording Academy for our nomination in the best metal performance category for 'Cellar Door'. We are so honored to be nominated two years in a row off the same EP and to be amongst all these incredible nominees.” -
