Charlotte Morris Releases New Song “Raised by a Woman”
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Charlotte Morris released the second single called “Raised by a Woman” from her upcoming third studio album “Both Sides” on November 14, 2024, following “Villain”.
The new album is set to be released in 2025. It is her first album in two years since the 2023 album “Wild Child”.
The song is a dedication for all tireless women, often ignored and underappreciated.
The track was written by Charlotte Amelia Morris, featuring David Flint on the guitar, Chris Nohl on the keyboard, Dave Spicher on bass, Billy Thomas on drums and background vocals, and Charlotte Morris herself on the violin.
Charlotte Morris said of the song, “As politicians try to strip away women's rights, some folks could use a good reminder (and maybe a kick in the ass) about where they came from and the women who got them there.”- She continued, “What started out as a potentially standard love song quickly morphed into a song of reverence for the women and mothers that stand behind the good men in my life. This song is for all the women that are overlooked, under-appreciated, and ignored.”
She added, “I think that this song, unfortunately, kind of coincidentally, came out in a moment where maybe we need it the most. So I hope that you've been listening to it and loving it.
