Tate McRae Announces New Album “So Close To What”, Shares New Song “2 hands”
Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae has announced her upcoming third studio album “So Close To What” will be released on February 21, 2025 via RCA Records.
The album is her first body of work in two years since the 2023 album “Think Later” and comprises a 15-track.
A press release describes the album as “the journey of growing up when the road ahead feels infinite and the destination increasingly elusive”.
Tate McRae shared on social media, “Making this album has been the most beautiful and exciting journey,”
From the album, she unveiled the second single called “2 hands” on November 14, 2024, following ”It's ok I'm ok”.
The track was written by Amy Allen, Peter Rycroft, Ryan Tedder, and Tate McRae. Produced by Ryan Tedder and Lostboy.
The accompanying music video was directed by Bradley & Pablo.- Tate McRae said of the song in a statement, “‘2 hands’ shows a different side of me than what people are used to. The song captures the feeling of falling in love and how sometimes just being close to someone is all you really need. A genuine connection goes beyond needing constant reassurance or fancy things, simply being together is what matters.”

Tate McRae will embarks on ‘Miss Possessive Tour in support of the album. New Zealand singer-songwriter BENEE and Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson will support the tour.
The tour kicks off at Pepsi Centre in Mexico City on March 18, 2025 and will conclude at Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 26, 2025.
