James Blake Premieres New Song “Like The End” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter James Blake premiered a new song “Like The End” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song follows up the 4-track EP “CMYK 002”, which was released back in June.
It was written by James Blake Litherland. Produced by Josh Stadlen, James Blake, Rob McAndrews, and Dom Maker.
James Blake is currently working on his upcoming seventh studio album, the song will appear on the new album.
James Blake told Jack Saunders about the song, “This song is, I guess, about reconciling with the world as it is and as it feels. And I guess that's different for everyone, but this is how I felt.”- He continued, “I think as a writer, you're supposed to kind of, I guess we're inspired by things that are around us, people around us, our experiences, but also the world in general. I've not always written about external things. I've often written internally, because I've always been in emotional stuff. But I think this is one of those rare times where I do kind of step outside of that.”

The new album is the follow-up to the 2023 album “Playing Robots into Heaven”.
It is his first release album as an independent artist and through his own label CMYK.
He said of the album, “I'm working on a record. I mean, it's creatively. I'm very excited. I mean I love the album I'm working on. This song is obviously quite a different genre for me. I mean I don't think I've done anything with drums or like, I don't know. It's in a world of some of the songs that I grew up with, but never really kind of experimented in those genres.” - source : BBC Radio 1
