Heather Avalon Returns with New Song “Use Me”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Heather Avalon returned with a new song “Use Me” on November 8, 2024.
The song is her first music in two years since the 2022 “Too Much Tequila”.
The track is inspired by past heartbreak, and she takes the turn from polished pop to a more high energy, rough, rock sound unlike her previous records.
Heather Avalon co-wrote with producer Ethan Surman.
Heather Avalon said of the song, “'Use Me' was inspired by moments of weakness in regards to an ex-partner. The song showcases that no matter how far removed from someone you may be, being single can get lonely and sometimes, as human beings, we crave the comfort and validation from a person so much that we allow them to use us.”- She continued, “This song makes me feel like I have the power to do whatever it is that I want and what makes me feel good. Though the song is about submitting to someone and being used, it almost in turn gives the listener a sense of power because they would never want to be put in a situation of simply being used. It makes me want to jump around and tell anyone who ever used me that I am worth much more than what is on the surface level, I have more to offer than to simply be a pawn in someone else’s life.”
