Jorja Smith Premieres New Song “Loving You” featuring Maverick Sabre on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith premiered a new song “Loving You” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
On the track, she worked with Irish singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre.
The song is accompanied by the Jazz Grant-directed music video.
She wrote the song with Maverick Sabre a decade ago. Produce by Ed Thomas.
Jorja Smith told Jack Saunders about the song, “This is probably one of the first tunes me and Maverick Sabre made. And I would have been like 16. And this is so old. This song is so old. So I'm just so happy that it gets super light a day. This is a big throwback.”
She added, “With 'Loving You', I feel like it's somewhere. Maybe you're not noticing what you're going through until you're out of it. That makes sense.”- Jorja Smith said of working with Maverick Sabre, “When I met Maverick, I remember first, like before I went into this session, like my head, asking for a picture such a big fan. I was like, don't ask me for that she don't do it, don't do it. And I didn't. That's one thing I remember. But I've just clicked, like we've been writing and working together ever since then.”
She continued, “He inspires me. I'm in awe of him. I'm in awe of his like, presence on stage, presence in the studio. I love just linking up with Maverick, chatting and chatting can turn into a song. We could just have a random conversation and end up writing something about that, but I've always looked up to him.” -
Also, Jorja Smith released another song along with “Loving You”, called “Don't Let Me Go”.
The track was written by Adam Jordan, Jorja Smith, and Michael Stafford. Produced by New Machine.
