  • Friction Premieres New Song “Bang Bang” featuring Stylo G, Riko Dan & Frisco on BBC Radio 1

  • British DJ Friction premiered a new song “Bang Bang” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

This time, he teamed up with British-Jamaican rapper Stylo G, London-based grime MC Riko Dan and British grime MC Frisco on the track.
The song is the follow-up to “State Of Mind”, which was released back in July.
The track was written by Edward William Keeley, Francis Deshane Cornwall, Jason Andre McDermott, and Zane Benson Williams. Produced by Friction.

Friction told Jack Saunders about the song, “I say this most spur of the moment, record I've ever made. It was one of those sessions really. I actually had a couple of days off in LA when I was doing my last American tour. And Stylo did a like little Insta story saying, 'Any producers in LA tonight?'. And I was like, Okay drops in the message, 'I am, I can get a studio. You want to go in and make a beat.' This was literally three hours before we went in the studio. So I've had to write basic land, drop myself off my hotel, go to a studio, met him there. And I had to make a beat there, and then on the fly. And 'Bang Bang' was created.”
  • He continued, “I think we've kind of worked together a couple of times. We've been in the studio. We've been in the studio. I've done a remix for him, and he is an amazing I've never, ever worked with an artist with so much energy, like crazy, even jet lagged in LA after no sleep. It's like he's just got so much energy. And he was like, come on, freaking come on, come with a beat, come with a beat. And I'm like, no pressure here at all. Okay, what about this? And played a couple of little bass lines in, and then he just literally went in the booth, and the whole bang, bang thing came about. And it was like, Okay, we've actually got something here.”

  • He said of working with Riko Dan and Frisco, “So one of those tunes as I've sort of started it as a kind of raw, kind of tiny, sort of small little tune idea with Stylo as it went on. And as I progressed it, I was like, this has got some room for some other lyrics here, for some other vocalists. So Riko I've worked with a lot. He's been absolutely killing it as of late, and he's always someone that's so good to work with. Went up, met him, he laid down a couple of 16, felt like there was room for one more. And Frisco is just someone I've always admired since the old BBK days, he is just an unbelievable lyricist and a legend of our scene, like he's unreal. So he was up for it. And that was how Bang Bang was created. And it was one of those things where it just all sort of fitted in every bit, every piece really fit. And sometimes, when you're making music, sometimes you have to, you can end up forcing things a little bit. And this was one of those records where everything came together.”
