Perrie Covers Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga's “Die With A Smile” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
British singer-songwriter and former Little Mix Perrie Edwards, aka Perrie appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform a cover of American singer-songwriters Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga's “Die With A Smile”, as well as her latest song “You Go Your Way”.
The original version of “Die With A Smile” was released by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga on August 16, 2024 via Interscope Records.
The track was written by Bruno Mars, Stefani Germanotta, Dernst Emile II, Andrew Watt, and James Fauntleroy.
The song was nominated for Best Collaboration at MTV Europe Music Awards 2024.
Perrie said of the song, “I'm a little bit in love with Bruno and Lady Gaga. I think Bruno when he writes lyrics. I don't know I always say this. I feel like when he writes lyrics, you think you've heard them 1000 times, but you've heard them before, because they're so perfect and they just make sense. So this song is potentially going to be my wedding song, not only singing it, obviously, I would love it. It's so beautiful. I just love it.”- “You Go Your Way” is her latest song and was released last month.
The song is inspired by a personal experience from her relationship with her fiancé, footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
It was written by Alfie Russel, Henry Counsell, and Perrie Edwards. Produced by Joy Anonymous, and Russel.
Perrie said of the song, “I told Alex, you go your way and I'll go mine and if it's meant to be we'll find each other again when I am back. He wasn't happy this idea and made our relationship official there and then! Fast forward 8 years and we are very happy, engaged and have our beautiful son. I truly believe if you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If not it was never meant to be.” - source : BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge
