Chappell Roan Performs “Pink Pony Club” & “The Giver” on Saturday Night Live
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Chappell Roan appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform “Pink Pony Club” and her new song “The Giver”.
This marks her musical guest debut on SNL. She shared on social media, “I am determined to be on SNL.”
“Pink Pony Club” is featured on her debut album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”, which was released in 2023.
The song was released as the first single from the album. She wrote the song with producer Daniel Nigro.
The track was inspired by the first night experience of moving to Los Angeles from her hometown Springfield, Missouri.
Chappell Roan said of the song, “I moved to LA from Springfield, MO and it completely changed my perspective on life. On one of my first nights in LA, I went to The Abbey in West Hollywood and was so inspired by the energy there. I felt like for the first time I could truly be myself and not be judged. My experience there inspired 'Pink Pony Club'.”- “The Giver” is her unreleased the song and will appear on her upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
She performed the song for the first time on TV.
Her producer Dan Nigro said in a New York Times interview that they have completed five tracks, including fun, up-tempo country song, a couple of ballads and a mid-tempo rock song. - source : NBC
