Georgie Benz Releases New Song “How Did You Do It So Easily?”
British indie pop singer-songwriter Georgie Benz surprise-released a new song “How Did You Do It So Easily?” on October 29, 2024.
The song arrived just one week after releasing “curious” from her upcoming debut EP.
The track was written by Georgie Benzecry and produced by Liam Fagan as with the previous single.
Georgie Benz said of the song, “'How Did You Do It So Easily?' is one of the most personal and intimate songs I've ever written. It captures the complex struggle of moving on from someone who once felt essential—a person whose absence lingers in everything I do, even as mine seems to barely touch them. This song explores the haunting contrast between two people who once shared something meaningful but now exist in vastly different emotional and physical spaces. While I'm left wrestling with memories and a sense of loss, they seem to have moved on effortlessly, exposing the painful imbalance in our parting.”- She shared on social media, “This one was a scary one to release, and an emotional one to write. It feels super personal to me, but I'm also extremely proud of it, and it definitely feels cathartic having her out, instead of just holding on to it.”
She continued, “This song is all about absence, and how unfortunately different people can both feel it immensely or not at all. It's really about having to do the last thing you want to do, in order to become unstuck and hopefully move on. Idk if that's relatable but yas!” -
She added, “Liam! As I said in Curious, I'm so grateful to have worked on this with you. I felt so comfortable coming to you with a song like this because you just made it such a safe and fun space to create music, even if it is not the happiest!
