Shealagh Rose Releases New Song “Tunnel Vision”
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Shealagh Rose released her brand new song “Tunnel Vision” on October 25, 2024.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming sophomore EP, following “Radio Silence” released last month.
It was written and produced by Shealagh Rose.
The track is a beautifully apathetic look at modernity and short term narrowed thinking in our environment.
Shealagh Rose said of the song, “I think technology has harmed the way we as a society feel empathy. A lot of us have either become apathetic or have developed a narrow sense of thinking (tunnel vision).”
She continued, “We're at a time where we are experiencing a collective existential crisis with the damage to our planet, and a cultural crisis with the quick rise of the internet. The song talks about feeling in a frozen state over it all.”- She shared on social media, “'Tunnel Vision is about feeling frozen and helpless as one person experiencing a collective existential threat with the damage to our planet and the simultaneous cultural crisis due to the quick rise of the internet. But in like, a cute dream pop kinda way!”
The new EP release teases of her earlier works, while introducing grittier sounds, and blending the lines between folk music and contemporary pop.
