Authority Zero Releases New Song “Long Way To Go”
American punk rock band Authority Zero, consisting of Jason DeVore (vocals), Mike Spero (bass), Brandon Landelius (guitar) and Chris Dalley (drums), released the second single called “Long Way To Go” from their upcoming EP “Thirty Years: Speaking to the Youth” on October 18, 2024.
The new 6-track EP is set to be released on November 1, 2024. It is their 30th anniversary with the release.
The track was written by Brandon Landelius, Christopher Dalley, Jason Hunsaker, and Michael Spero. Produced by Cameron Webb.
The band frontman Jason DeVore said of the song, “We've all been congested. We've all been broken at some point, and we've all been striving for a better day, every day. Unfortunately that doesn't just magically happen. It takes work, it takes courage, and it takes consistency. Without that you'll keep tripping up and taking steps backwards. It's about realizing that if you change nothing, then nothing changes, so why would you not expect the same result time after time? You can't just keep trying to convince yourself that everything's fine and keep turning a blind eye to it, when you know it's clearly not if you want change. Inner battles, social or political adversity, you name it. It will all just keep repeating itself until you start to recognize that a different approach is necessary. Even then, you've got a long way to go, and that is just the beginning.”- The new EP is celebrating 30 years as a bad by looking to the future while reflecting on the past in the course of a powerful six-song effort by the punk-rock group they started as high school kids in Mesa, Arizona.
The lyrics reflect on the world he sees around him through the filter on his own experiences.
Jason DeVore said of the EP, “'Thirty Years: Speaking to the Youth' is essentially about believing in yourself and fighting for what you believe in.Whatever that may be. It’s about the journey of this life and the awareness of it all. Each moment good or bad. If there’s something that you love and feel a strong conviction about, don’t be afraid to stand up and speak about it, fight for it, be heard, and ultimately live and embrace it in its entirety.” - source : Apple Music
