Disclosure Releases New Song “Arachnids”
British electronic music duo Disclosure, consisting of Guy Lawrence and Howard Lawrence, released a new song “Arachnids” on October 25, 2024.
The song follows up “She's Gone, Dance On” and “in2minds” with Chris Lake.
The track was written and produced by Guy Lawrence. The accompanying music video was directed by UNCANNY.
Guy Lawrence said of the song, “For me, this is kind of like a diary entry of where my skills in music are currently at, in terms of mix & production. I wanted to ask myself questions such as: How far can I stretch & evolve this fairly simple drum loop? Can it go through almost multiple genres along the way? Do I need more than one chord? Can the kick be the bassline? So much creative freedom & nerdy moments in the studio for this one, but with the aim of still keeping the foundations & groove simple & concise. It's not gonna be one you can sing along to but I hope some of you get a lot of enjoyment from it... I know I did.”- Guy Lawrence shared on social media, “This one felt like an ever evolving, creative puzzle of sound design & groove exploration. The project came together over many months of tweaking & adusting. For me, this is kind of like a diary entry of where my production & mixing skills are currently at in 2024. So much creative freedom & nerdy moments had in the studio for this one, but still keeping the foundations / groove simple & concise. Yeah... it's not gonna be one you can sing along too this time I'm afraid, but I hope you get a lot of sonic enjoyment from it... me & Howard definitely do.”
