flipturn Releases New Song “Juno”
American indie rock band flipturn, consisting of Dillon Basse (vocals/guitar), Tristan Duncan (guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass), Mitch Fountain (guitar) and Devon VonBalson (drums), released the second single called “Juno” from their upcoming sophomore album “Burnout Days” on October 24, 2024.
The new album comprises a 12-track and is set to be released on January 24, 2025 via Dualtone Records.
the track was written by Devon VonBalson, Dillon Basse, Madeline Jarman, Mitchell Fountain, and Tristan Duncan. Produced by Chad Copelin.
The accompanying music video was directed by @directedbygoodgame.
The song's opening riff emerged when the band guitarist Mitch Fountain accidentally dropped his Juno (JU-06A) synthesizer.
Mitch Fountain said, “It somehow created a brand new patch and a sound that everyone loved. We loved it so much that it instantly turned into the opening riff of the song.”- He continued, “Lyrically, we wanted to tell a story about what life can feel like traveling the country as a band in a transit van. Our van Pegasus, 'Peggy' for short, became the closest thing to home we had when touring. A lot of our family and friends for years would assume that the rockstar lifestyle was how they saw it in movies or pop culture but in reality it is a much different experience. 'Juno' is meant to highlight the toxic positivity that I think we've all experienced when we feel like we need to tell our friends and family 'we're living the dream' when we are still very much chasing the dream.”

The band shared on social media, “This song is a love letter to the wild life of touring, where our beloved van Pegasus (aka Peggy) became our home on the road these past few years. It's a glimpse into the chaos, camaraderie, and occasional delusion that comes with chasing a dream in a van full of friends. We dedicate this song to everyone who's psycho enough to be out there, touring the country in a van with your homies.”
