Lady Gaga Releases New Song “Disease”
Last month, American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga released the companion album “Harlequin”, which is inspired by the musical thriller film “Joker: Folie à Deux”.
She starred in the film, where she performed the DC Comics character Harley Quinn.
Following the album, she released a new song “Disease” on October 25, 2024.
The track received its first play during BBC Radio 1 Breakfast.
The song is her solo music since the 2020 album “Chromatica”, and will appear on her upcoming seventh studio album (yet-untitled), which is set to be released in February 2025.
As the single, the track is the follow-up to the collaborative song Die With A Smile with American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, which was released in August.
The track was written by Andrew Watt, Cirkut, Lady Gaga, and Michael Polansky. Produced by Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt, and Cirkut.- Lady Gaga told Vogue about the song, “Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, 'Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music.'”
Co-writer and her her fiancé Michael Polansky added, “Like anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean in to the joy of it. On the Chromatica tour, I saw a fire in her; I wanted to help her keep that alive all the time and just start making music that made her happy.” -
She told Vogue about the album, “There's a lot of pain associated with this adventure, and when I start to explore that pain, it can bring out another side to my artistry. When I'm here at this studio, I'm relaxed, and I am able to face my demons and what's remarkable is...that's the music. I'm able to hear it back.” - source : BBC Radio 1
