  • beabadoobee Covers Sabrina Carpenter's “Taste” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

  • Filipino-British singer-songwriter beabadoobee appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform a cover of American singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter's “Taste”, and her latest song “Beaches”.

The original version of “Taste” was released by Sabrina Carpenter as the third single from her sixth studio album “Short n' Sweet” back in August.
The song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the UK Singles chart. It became her third consecutive number-one single in Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, following “Espresso” and “Please Please Please”.

beabadoobee said of the song, “I chose 'Taste' by Sabrina Carpenter because she's a good friend and she's a babe, and she's been feeling it. But this twist because... I also managed to sing the cause in this cover.”
  • “Beaches” is featured on beabadoobee's third studio album “This Is How Tomorrow Moves”, which was released in August 2024.
The track was written by beabadoobee and produced by Rick Rubin and Jacob Bugden.

Before performing the song, beabadoobee said of her life lesson, “My life lesson for you would probably be something that Rick told me once when I was making the album with him, and he said, when you make art and you or even if you make any sort of art, not just music, as long as you love it and you care about it, it doesn't matter what anyone else says, as long as you love the project, you made, that means it's good. So I always try and remind myself that every day.”

  • She told Apple Music about “Beaches”, “I wrote 'Beaches' because of how terrified I was getting into this. I am the sort of person that values feeling comfortable and loyalty and trusting people around me, not changing a lot of things. But I would've been an idiot if I had said no [to Rubin]. I remember my boyfriend being like, 'Are you crazy? You have to go.' I'm so used to making music back at home, not in a massive, fancy place.”
