  • Tom Grennan Covers JADE's “Angel Of My Dreams” & Fontaines D.C.'s “Favourite” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

  • British singer-songwriter Tom Grennan appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform two covers of British singer-songwriter JADE's “Angel Of My Dreams” and Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C.'s “Favourite”, as well as his original songs “Higher” and “Something in the Water”.

The original version of “Angel Of My Dreams” was released by former Little Mix member JADE (Jade Thirlwall) as her debut solo single back in July.

Tom Grennan said of the song, “I just love what she's doing right now, taking risks in pop. And I think, as a female artist, she's just smashing it. And I've been a fan a Little Mix, but when she's come and done her own stuff, I'm just like, she's pushing boundaries, and also this song, what it stands for as well. I feel like everybody, I think should know the story behind it, but she's standing up for herself and what she believes in and it's good.”
  • The original version of “Favourite” was released by Fontaines D.C. as the second single from their fourth studio album “Romance” in June.

Tom Grennan said of the song, “Fontaine's DC favorite, I feel like right now these lads are like, the best, the best, they are so, so good. And that album that they released, Romance is just a joke. It's been amazing to do man like, the way that he plays with lyrics. And he's a poet man.”

  • “Higher” is his latest song and was released last month. The track is the first music since his 2023 album “What Ifs & Maybes”.
“Something in the Water” is his debut song and is featured on his debut album “Lighting Matches” released in 2018.

Tom Grennan said of “Higher”, “The weird thing about me is that I make music in the studio but most of my good ideas come to me when I'm not actually in the studio. On the day we wrote 'Higher' I'd left the room but I just couldn't get that riff out of my head. It turned into a melody, which turned into a phrase... I ran back into the studio, with the piano riff still playing, threw my hands up and sang: 'It's taking me higher'. Everyone in the room just went: 'Boom. That's it'.”
