Pretty Jane Releases New Song “Stand So Close”
Nashville-based alt-rock band Pretty Jane, consisting of Trevor Dalrymple (vocals), Luca DiVergilio (bass) and Ethan Strain (guitar), released a new song “Stand So Close” along with a music video on October 18, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to “Everybody Else”, which was released back in May.
The track explores the bittersweet ache of wanting someone while wondering if they want you back, offering a vibrant exploration of desire.
It was written by Trevor Dalrymple, and Luca DiVergilio who also produced the track. The accompanying video was directed by Goodgame.
The band said of the song, “Yearning for someone is one of those emotions that's so sweet it’s nearly unbearable, which is exactly what we wanted the song to feel like. It’s definitely a sarcastic approach. Putting an over-the-top, fancy arrangement over a song about some viscerally unpleasant emotions just felt right. Somehow Luca and I keep ending up in parallel romantic situations. We both found ourselves in this intimate tension with another person, where wondering what they’re thinking becomes almost obsessive.”- source : Apple Music
