Sophie Ellis-Bextor Premieres New Song “Freedom Of The Night” on BBC Radio 2
British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor premiered her brand new song “Freedom Of The Night” on BBC Radio 2 The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.
The song is her first solo music in a year since the 2023 album “HANA” and will also appear on her upcoming eighth studio album.
As the single, the song follows up the collaborative single “Ready for Your Love” with German DJ Felix Jaehn.
The track was written by Duck Blackwell, Richard Stannard, and ShuraSophie Ellis-Bextor. Produced by Duck Blackwell, David Wrench, Chris Greatti, Richard Jones, and Richard Stannard.
She has already filmed a music video for the song directed by Sophie Muller, which will premiere on October 25, 2024.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor said of the song, “I have always been someone that needs music to help me recalibrate and “Freedom of the Night” is all about that feeling. Music as a form of release and a little bit of hedonism. I've always needed that energy in my life, and I know I'm not alone. As the song says, sometimes you need to give in to what you want.”- She shared on social media, “Happy new single release day to me! Anyway, mainly, I'm very happy to share the first song from my 8th album with you and as any self-respecting pop star would say, I hope you enjoy it! I'm really excited - I love what I do so much and it's always a thrill to bring out something new.”
