Peach Pit Releases New Song “Every Little Thing”
Canadian indie pop band Peach Pit, consisting of Neil Smith (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Christopher Vanderkooy (lead guitar), Peter Wilton (bass), Mikey Pascuzzi (drums) and Dougal McLean (guitar), will release their upcoming fourth studio album “Magpie” on October 25, 2024 via Columbia Records.
The album is their first project in two years since the 2022 album “From 2 to 3” and comprises 11 songs.
From the album, the band released the third single “Every Little Thing” on October 18, 2024.
The track was written by C.J. Finn, Christopher Vanderkooy, Michael Pascuzzi, Neil Smith, and Peter Wilton. Produced by Robbie Lackritz.
The band lead singer Neil Smith said of the song, “I wrote this song after taking a tab of acid. I was experiencing a lot of writers’ block and wanted to shake things up, so I sat down on my couch with my guitar, took the tab and set out my pen and paper. I already had some chords I was working with and a bit of melody to start. Once the acid kicked in, I started writing as though the devil was talking to me. It sounds rather ominous, but the song I wrote is more tongue in cheek than anything. In the end, the song is loosely a conversation between me and this devil character who meets me in hell, offers me a drink and says that he’s been expecting me.”- The band said of the album, “We’ve been sitting on a new album for the last few months, letting ‘er incubate, and she’s almost ready to hatch. Hope you like.We are much excite. We got the wickedly talented Jack Kenna Jack Kenna to paint the album cover and our fave designer Jordyn Taylor-Robins on the spikey font. Many thanks to them, we love our psychedelic milk crate.”
