FKA twigs Premieres New Song “Perfect Stranger” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter FKA twigs premiered a new song “Perfect Stranger” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming third studio album “EUSEXUA”, which is set to be released on January 24, 2025 via Young and Atlantic Records.
It was written by FKA twigs, Lewis Roberts, Mark Williams, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Raul Cubina, and Tor Erik Hermansen. Produced by Koreless, Stargate, Ojivolta, and FKA twigs.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jordan Hemingway, featuring Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
FKA twigs told about Jack Saunders song, “I think for me, 'Perfect Stranger' is about when you meet someone and you think you're surely the most perfect human that ever existed, so long as I know nothing about you. So it's just remaining in that beautiful sweet spot of I guess, projecting everything that somebody could be rather than perhaps what they are. And wanting to stay in that bliss as well.”- She continued, “I mean, I think I take a lot of risks. I think I just owe it to myself and to people that want to listen to my music to provide something honest and different. And I always like to think I want to show that other side of the coin. What something could be, whether that's culture or a point of view or a melody or a sound like I always want to try and show what's under the rock or the other side of the coin, because it makes me feel like I'm offering something true into the pot of culture, rather than, I guess. Just going with what we know will work, and going along with a formula.”

The new album comprises 11 songs, produced by FKA Twigs, Koreless, Eartheater, Sasha, and Bapari.
She explained about the album as “Community”. FKA twigs said, “Communities raised me. Scenes have quite literally raised me. I was discovered at nine o'clock in the morning on a train, you know, coming back from from a night out, and that got me on the cover of ID, because a photographer saw me, and that was sort of my big explosion into the world. And I believe in community. I believe in a scene. I believe in being able to find pockets of society where you can be yourself and you can find your family and your tribe.” - source : BBC Radio 1
