070 Shake Announces New Album “Petrichor”, Premieres New Song “Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues” on BBC Radio 1
American singer-songwriter 070 Shake has announced her upcoming third studio album “Petrichor” will be released on November 15, 2024.
The album is her first LP in two years since the 2022 album “You Can't Kill Me”. and comprises 13 songs.
From the album, she premiered the first single called “Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song consists two parts and is accompanied by the Bennett Watanabe-directed music video, featuring Lily-Rose Depp, who is known as a daughter of American actor Johnny Depp.
“Very inspired by the 50s and bringing a new flavor to it,” 070 Shake told Jack Saunders about the song. “Just listening to a lot of like classic rock and classical music in general, and also just taking inspiration from my own self, internally, with all of the music that I've ever loved that is just feels like is a part of me.”
She continued, “Because I feel like it's like a little taste. It's almost like candy, and it feels very much like a dream state. And when you listen to the album, it feels more like the reality of me. So just was giving people the dream first.”- 070 Shake said of the album title, “I just really related to that word, and that smell since I was a kid, is my favorite smell. And I just like the feeling of it, and I thought it was a beautiful name.”
She said of breaking creative boundaries in music, “I think as creatives, we all reach a point where it feels like there's a wall. And I think you just got to be strong, strong-willed, and really be willing to go at that wall over and over and over again until it just breaks. And that's where the magic is at behind that wall. I mean, this, for me, is nothing else. Like this is what my life is, you know. So if I don't do that, then what am I going to do?” - source : BBC Radio 1
