The Backfires Announces Debut Album “This Is Not An Exit”, Shares New Song “Replace It All”
New York-based indie rock band The Backfires, consisting of Alex Gomez (vocals), Harry Ruprecht (guitar), Max Wanduragala (drums) and Matt Walter (bass), has announced their upcoming debut album “This Is Not An Exit” will be released on January 24, 2025.
The album comprises 10 songs, produced by Ayad al Adhamy.
From the album, the band released a new song “Replace It All” on October 10, 2024.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Brighter Lights” and “Dressed For A Funeral”.
The track was written by Alexander Gomez and Henry Ruprecht. Produced by Ayad al Adhamy.
The band said of the song, “'Replace It All' is about surrendering yourself to someone else and letting them save you from your past. It’s how it feels to be lost at the end of the world, caught in between love and fear, needing to be rescued.”- The accompanying music video was directed by Jack Alexander Cohen.
The band said of the video, Sometimes the road to get to where you want is long and winding, and even when you’re close enough to see it, you’ve still got a ways to go. The video for ‘Replace It All’ nods to the journey of our band. Now we’re in New York, and we’re putting out our first record. It’s been a long while, but we’re just getting started.”
Recently, the band announced drummer Max Wanduragala has stepped away from the band. -
