Guinevere Returns with New Song “Unravel”
Italian singer-songwriter Guinevere has returned with a new song “Unravel”.
The song is her first music in a year and a half since the 2023 EP “Running In Circles”.
It is dedicated to a close friend who tragically took his own life five years ago.
The new song came to Guinevere in a dream, where she met her departed friend. He shared a melody and parts of the lyrics for what would eventually become “Unravel.” In her last recollection of the dream, he urged her to write them down when she woke up.
The track was written and produced by Guinevere, with production by Damon Arabsolgar.
The accompanying music video was directed by Giulia Borges C.
Guinevere said of the song, “Five years ago I had a dream. I was dancing and holding hands with a dear friend of mine, who passed away a few months before that night. In the dream, he was singing me a song, and after dancing along with it for a while, he asked me to wake up and write it down, otherwise I would have forgotten it in the morning. So I did. It was 3 am, I took my diary and a pen and I started writing it all down. That song turned out to be Unravel.”- She continued, “My friend’s melody and lyrics were laying on some classic guitar arpeggios that my dad played for me two or three years before that night and then never again, he composed them when he was in his twenties. Funny how the dots connect in such weird ways. I wouldn’t be making music if it wasn’t for Unravel, it saved me from the darkest time of my life too. What If I didn’t wake up to write it? Would I still be alive? What if seven years ago my dad didn’t share those arpeggios with me? What if he hadn’t written them fifty years ago? We are all so intrinsically connected.”

She added, “It’s hard to be able to fully express how much this song means to me, how much I’m grateful to each little tiny step that led to me writing it, and to each soul that contributed to its creation. But I am, so damn grateful.”
