FINNEAS Covers Radiohead's “Fake Plastic Trees” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
American singer-songwriter and record producer FINNEAS appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform a cover of British rock band Radiohead's “Fake Plastic Trees” and his latest song “Lotus Eater”.
This marks his debut on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge as a musical guest.
“Fake Plastic Trees” was released by Radiohead as the third single from their second album “The Bends” in 1995,
The track was written by Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Jonny Greenwood, Philip Selway, and Thom Yorke.
The song has been covered by numerous artists including Hayley Williams, and Phoebe Bridgers and Arlo Parks.
Before, the band frontman Thom Yorke told Far Out Magazine about the song, “'Fake Plastic Trees' was the product of a joke that wasn't really a joke, a very lonely, drunken evening and, well, a breakdown of sorts. It's a very nice melody that I had absolutely no idea what to do with.”- “Lotus Eater” is featured on FINNEAS' sophomore album “For Cryin' Out Loud!”, which was released on October 4, 2024.
The track was written by Aron Forbes, David Marinelli, Finneas O'Connell, Lucy Healy, Matthew Fildey, Miles Morris, and Sam Homaee. Produced by FINNEAS.
Before BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, FINNEAS also performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
FINNEAS embarks on “For Cryin' Out Loud!” tour in support of the new album. The tour kicks off at Auckland Town Hall in Auckland, New Zealand on January 7, 2025, and will conclude at Live Music Hall in Cologne, Germany on May 9, 2025.
